The C-Max Hybrid uses Ford’s powersplit technology to significantly improve fuel economy over similarly sized vehicles using conventional powertrains. It uses a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder gas engine combined with a lithium-ion battery-driven electric motor. This powersplit architecture has the flexibility to power the wheels with the electric motor and gas engine together, or separately. Standard features include seating for five, cloth seat trim, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 60/40 split folding rear seat, and 17-inch wheels. -Autoblog
